YOUTH
Hope Lutheran has a youth ministry that specifically focuses on students who are in Middle School and High School!!
Weekly opportunities for worship, bible study, & hanging out regularly during the school year and frequently during the summer. Middle School and High School have times of worship on Wednesday followed by small group discussion and group activities. Sunday School also takes place each Sunday morning from 9:45 a.m – 10:45 a.m. for all ages during the school year. Various books of the bible and topics are studied.
Confirmation: Our confirmation program begins in sixth grade and students are confirmed in the fall of their tenth grade year. During Middle School the students participate in class, service projects, worship services, and fellowship opportunities. During their ninth grade year they have an adult mentor to converse with about all sorts of topics.
Summer Camps & Service Trips:
- Pickerel Bible Camp: Middle School & High School students are invited to get a way for one week to Pickerel Lake. It is an intimate, relaxed setting with time allotted each day for worship, bible study, small groups, swimming, various games, free time, GREAT food, campfire, & misc. other stuff. The camp is only $60.00 for the whole week. We also offer various pamphlets with information from many Christian based camps. The pamphlets are available in the Narthex.
- We have traveled to Mexico, Chicago, various Native American reservations, and other places to put our faith in action. During these trips, the youth have painted homes, fixed wheelchair ramps, helped lead childrens’ programs, and other items to benefit the communities.
Special Events: There are frequent special CONNECT events for Middle School or High School students. These events range from lock-ins to scavenger hunts to local mission work.
